                                                        Delhi Police

 

The Delhi Police is the main agency for the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT). It does not have jurisdiction over the adjoining areas of the National Capital Region. The head of the Delhi Police Department is designated as Police Commissioner of New Delhi. In 2015, sanctioned strength of DP was 84,536 (including I.R. Battalions)[4]:para7.69 making it one of the largest metropolitan police forces in the world.[5] About 25 percent of Delhi police strength is earmarked for VVIP security

Exam Syllabus:-

General Awareness:- Questions will be asked from Indian polity,  Indian Administration, Indian Independence Movement, Indian Constitution and Law, Current (National and International) Events, Right to Information, Indian Society , Gender Issues, Basics of Computer Skills and Awareness,  Human Rights, Internal Security and Terrorism,  Secularism, Environment, General Science, Relations between India and its Neighbouring Countries.

Mental Ability:- Questions will be from topics- Logical Diagrams, Symbol-Relationship Interpretation, Codification, Perception Test,  Word formation Test,  Letter and number series,  Word and alphabet Analogy, Common Sense Test, Letter and number coding, Direction sense Test,  Logical interpretation of data, Forcefulness of argument, Determining implied meanings.

Reasoning:- Questions will be from topics-  Analogies,  Similarities,  Differences, Space visualization, Problem solving, Analysis and Judgment, Decision-making, Visual memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship, Concepts, Arithmetical reasoning, Verbal and figure classification, Arithmetical number series, Abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships, Arithmetical computations and other analytical functions.

Comprehension:- This Part is to test the comprehension ability of the candidate. To Checkthe ability questions will be in form of passage & asked from Literature, Science, Art, Culture, Social Science, Philosophy, Ethics & Other Humanity Subjects. Questions form passage & Poetry of Hindi Language will be ask.

The State Police Headquarters, which was earlier located in the Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh has now been shifted to its own building in Sector 6, Panchkula.  The Central Police Office (C.P.O), Criminal Investigation Department Offices are located in this building, alongwith the State Police Control Room.

Knowledge Test (Written Exam)

Exam Pattern :- Haryana Police Constable & SI Exam Pattern is as follows :

► The written test will be multiple choice objective type.
► There shall be one composite paper carrying 100 questions.
► Each question shall carry 0.80 marks. So paper will be of total 80 marks.
► The duration of test will be 01:30 hours (90 minutes).
► The medium of examination shall be Hindi except knowledge of English language.

Exam Syllabus :- Haryana Police Constable/SI Syllabus will be as follows :

The test paper shall include questions on General studies, Agriculture, Animal husbandry, Reasoning, Current affairs, Numerical ability, General science, Aptitude, relevant field / trade etc.

The standard of questions shall be as expected of an educated person having passed 10+2 examination of Board of School Education, Haryana for the post of Constable and Graduation from a recognized university for the post of Sub- Inspector.

General Studies – In this objective of questions about general knowledge of surrounding society of the candidates to test the awareness about surrounding activities. History of India (Haryana mostly) & its Adjacent Countries, Culture, Geography, Economical Scenario and Constitution of India & State Administration, Political series of Country, Five-Year Plan, Contribution of Haryana in National Movement.

Agriculture – Knowledge of History/ Facts of Agriculture, Fruits & Vegetable, Crop Production, Soil, Fertility, Fertilizing, Irrigation and Damage, Weed/Pests Control, Types of Crops, Soil & Land, Horticulture, Plantation and Deforestation etc.

Animal Husbandry – Animal Nutrition and nutritional importance, Animal breeds, importance of animal, Livestock farming, Dairy, diseases and symptoms in animal etc.

Reasoning – It will include the question of both verbal and non-verbal type. Question will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, problem solving, relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions, Venn diagrams, relationship concepts and Ability to observe and distinguish patterns etc.

Current Affairs – Questions will be asked from Indian Current Events, General Science, General Knowledge. Focus will be mainly on Current affairs of National & International news, Important dates, Current Science, Technology, Sports & Culture.

Numerical Ability – The test of Arithmetical and Numerical abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.

General Science – These tests are designed to test the knowledge and competencies for scientific methodology concepts, principles, techniques and physics, chemistry, life sciences (Biology), the earth/space sciences, technologies etc.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

► Physical Measurement Test shall be of qualifying nature only.

(i) General Category – Male(170 cms); Female(158 cms)
(ii) Eligible reserve categories as per latest existing Government Policy – Male(168 cms); Female(156 cms)

Chest
(i) General Category – Male(83 cms (un-expanded) to 87 cms (Expanded))
(ii) Eligible reserve categories as per latest existing Government Policy – Male(81 cms (un-expanded) to 85 cms (Expanded))

► In case of Ex-serviceman, Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe and backward classes category, relaxation in physical standard to the extent of 1 inch in height and 1 inch in chest measurement shall be given.

Physical Screening Test (PST)

All Candidates, who qualified the Physical Measurement Test shall be put to a Physical Screening Test, which will be of only qualifying in nature, to judge their physical fitness and endurance. The standards prescribed for this test shall be as under:-

Scrutiny of Documents

All the candidates who have qualified the Physical Screening Test shall be called for the scrutiny of documents. All other candidates shall stand eliminated from further process of selection.

(i) Education (maximum 05 marks): Candidate with higher education i.e with Graduate degree shall get three (03) marks; while, candidate with Post Graduate degree shall get total five (05) marks.

(ii) NCC Certificate (maximum 03 marks): Candidate having NCC certificate of A, B or C, level shall get 01, 02 and 03 marks respectively. OR
Haryana Cadet Corps (HCC) Certificate (maximum 03 marks): Candidate having HCC certificate of A or B level shall get 01 and 03 marks respectively.

Interview-cum-Personality Test

Candidates twice the number of vacancies, who qualify the Physical Test, shall be called for Interview-cum-Personality Test. Interview test shall be of total twelve (12) marks.
